We
rejoice together today as Maria Nicole Grenyo receives the washing of
regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Maria, daughter of
seminarian Greg and Kris Grenyo, was born April 21. Alex and Sue Legler
are Maria’s sponsors.

For today’s liturgy we will begin by following page 5 through the middle of page 6 in The Lutheran Hymnal. After the Introit we will simply follow the propers as printed in the outer bulletin. The Baptism will occur after the Gospel reading. The Public Examination will occur after the sermon. The service will conclude with the offerings, prayers, Lord’s Prayer and Benediction. Pastor will explain at the beginning of the service.
| After today’s brief sermon, the following young people will have their knowledge of the faith publicly examined: Ryan Hart, Joshua Korte, Ryan Seddelmeyer, Jennifer Wefel, Jamie Werling. Join them in reviewing what you know of the faith, and pray for these Confirmands. Next Sunday these young people will profess their faith in the Rite of Confirmation. |

| Faith Lutheran Church of Roanoke has called candidate Daniel Coffey to be their pastor. Mister Coffey will become Reverend Coffey this afternoon, as he is ordained into the office of the public ministry. Members of our congregation are welcome to this ordination/installation which begins at 3pm. Pastor Brege, as Circuit Counselor, will be officiating the ordination/installation. |
Pastor Brege perhaps will have
decided his call by today. As of the writing of this bulletin no final
decision has been made. If necessary, Pastor will be discussing his call
at the beginning of today’s Adult Bible Class. (NOTE: Since this publication, Pastor Brege has announced the decline of the Lusk, WY Call). |
||||||
| Mr. James Smith has declined our call to be principal of Wyneken School. We pray for our Lord’s continued guidance in this matter. | Couples Club members, please contact either Fred Bieberich or Ferd Selking by tomorrow evening concerning this Saturday’s men-treat-the-wives dinner. | ||||||
Acolytes
for the month of May are Seth Rambo and Nate Reinking.
|
We are pleased to announce the placement and calls for our various Seminary Field Workers. Jerry Cascione will be heading to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Milton, WA where he will be Associate Pastor with Rev. Doug Good. This is very close to where Rev. Joel Wood, former Field Worker, is now a pastor. Dan Wilant has a call in process. Robb Catherwood has been assigned to Luther Memorial Chapel in Shorewood, WI to do his one year Vicarage under the supervision of Rev. Kenneth Wieting. May the Lord bless each of these men as they continue their work in Christ’s kingdom.
Sunday
School students were given special LWML
"mite boxes" a few months ago and should return them to their
classrooms by the end of May. Monies collected will be used by the
Lutheran Women’s Missionary League for missionary projects.
